Trump is going to prison

[triple] why u whatabboutin - whatabout [/triple]
[trump] Sorry, I shouldn't have said "only" [/trump] they're obviously an established company dealing with computer security, I wasn't trying to imply they were some kind of shell for the DNC. But CS has been a source of a lot of the information regarding Fancy Bear - circumstantial evidence pointing to Russia.

Then, all of the sudden, the FBI connects this circumstantial evidence provided by others with lightning accuracy proving that GRU was behind the hacking of the DNC because they themselves absolutely owned the fuck out of GRU computers! But somehow weren't able to connect those dots until they reviewed CS's analysis.

They had this proof during the campaigns of Russian actors infiltrating our election process and did absolutely nothing about it except warn the DNC "we think ur being h4x0rz'd lul". And ON TOP OF THAT, gave up jurisdiction over critical information to corroborate it to a private company.

What the fuck?

guys, guys, guys, if bush was a piece of shit

obama was a piece of shit

triple voted for both of them

how can you call me a dipshit partisan hack and shill?

I hate Jews more than Vanster hates white people.

But i love Dershowitz's legal mind.

He truly show just how unhinged the anti-trump prog-left is.

you know it is bad when this dude was against both sides of the absurd with witch hunts, backing both Bill Clinton during his special investigation over blowjobgate and now Trump wit his, and is suddenly being called a Nazi for it

Fact of the matter is Trump is never going to prison or be impeached for that matter. For all the carrying on of the left, those in power know that if Trump is convicted of anything, it sets a precedent they don't want. They know that down the road the same arguments could be used against their guy or themselves so they will put on these low level show trials and pat each other on the back and mugg for the camera telling the public they are looking out for Americans when in fact they are safeguarding their own futures.

This is pretty much exactly how shit works in every communist country so congratulations America, you are now just like Russia except you have shorter lines for bread...

Ah the old guilt by association fallacy.

The Last Jedi's problem isn't that it's 'too ballsy'. The film had no balls at all. Leia dies? Nope, saved at the last minute.

Finn dies? Nope, saved at the last minute.

Rey has an interesting back story that sheds light on her character? Nope.

Rey turns to the dark side? Nope, she's perfect.

Finn and Rose's mission has important consequences? Nope, it has no impact on the story at all.

Poe learns to be a leader? Nope, he's stripped of his position, talked down to and left with nothing to do.

Akbar dies heroically and meaningfully? Nope, dies off-screen. Mentioned once in passing.

Snoke established as a menacing character? Nope, killed almost immediately.

Kylo Ren made redeemable? Nope, turns out he's determined to be as evil as possible without real reason.

DJ's views on neutrality explored? Nope, turns out capitalism is just evil.

Luke placed in danger? Nope, it was all an illusion.

Luke dies meaningfully? Nope, Luke fades away without cause or reason.

The story progresses to the next stage of their journey? Nope, at the end of TLJ the heroes are in the same position as they were at the start of the film - on the run from the First Order, except a few extras died in between.

Ultimately, The Last Jedi is about nothing, goes nowhere and contributes nothing to the series. As a film it is a storytelling disaster - literally just two and a half hours of stuff happening.

Structurally, this film is a complete mess and doesn't work. There is virtually no character development in any of the major players. And the less said about the completely inappropriate and tone deaf humor, the better. And the problem with the structure is the obvious one: Rian Johnson doesn’t intermesh plot threads, but rather has them simply coincide. He doesn’t actually build the story in a cohesive way. Instead he relies on cross-cutting, piling on a half dozen different plots to the extent that what little dramatic tension is ever present quickly becomes deflated. It escalates, then sags. All the characters spend huge portions of the film spinning their wheels and accomplishing very little. And by forcing the audience to invest in too much too quickly, Johnson cops out of focusing on a main protagonist, which really should have been Rey, seeing as how she was the center of the story in the previous episode.

Worse, Johnson inexplicably undermines everything that J.J.Abrams established in The Force Awakens, most egregiously the characterizations: for example, Poe Dameron has been completely rewritten, and Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren end the film precisely where they ended The Force Awakens. Johnson doesn't allow us sufficient time with the characters... while simultaneously not having the characters drive the narrative anywhere. We spend a whole lot of time with Finn and what's her face on the casino planet, for example, only to watch them accomplish nothing. You can't build a Star Wars movie around themes. Because a Star Wars movie isn't a Luis Buñuel film. And what are these themes precisely? Real world social issues that not only do not belong anywhere near a Star Wars movie, they aren't even about the characters themselves. Star Wars movies have always been character driven first, story and plot second, and have NEVER attempted to incorporate real world social commentary in order to placate a younger generation of socially conscious ankle biters who might get upset that a fantasy movie isn't directly speaking to their ideas about diversity and whatever else is currently in vogue to get angry about on college campuses.

In short: Rian Johnson essentially made a middling entry to a tv show... literally: the whole weak "we gotta get to the planet before the fuel runs out and the bad guys blow us up" scaffolding that everything else in this film hangs off of is straight out of Battlestar Galactica, only that show was masterful at world building, characterization and most importantly plausibility: since WHEN have ships in Star Wars relied on fuel to function??? Johnson obviously couldn't care less about Star Wars. That's why many fans of this film are defaulting to the asinine position that Johnson's "shaking things up" approach is something more than sophomoric contrarianism, and are practically tripping over themselves attempting to equate this nonsense with what Irvin Kershner did with The Empire Strikes Back. But the results couldn't be more opposite. The latter resulted in a perfectly orchestrated, beautiful symphony. The former resulted in an ugly cacophony. Then there’s the subject of Luke Skywalker. Luke Skywalker was assassinated by Rian Johnson. His entire characterization could have been written to remain congruent with the hero that I grew up with, but instead Johnson inexplicably chose to thoroughly ruin Luke in favor of "subverting expectations", which I translated to English means "shitting the bed". Yes, he could have reacted to the trauma of his life by fleeing and regrouping... but Luke would never flee with the intention of abandoning his friends and the Resistance. NEVER. Luke, much like almost every other character in The Last Jedi, was rewritten by Rian Johnson for the sole purpose of aligning with the story that he wanted to tell, which, even if I'm being generous, only amounts to bad fan fiction at best. You can rationalize it any way you want. But Luke Skywalker has always been a HERO. Yes, an all-caps HERO. He goes on what is referred to as a "hero's journey". Luke is defined by the choices he makes in those original trilogy films, choices that carve out his character in granite as selfless, courageous and loving, even in the face of adversity and uncertainty. That's why the character we see in The Last Jedi is virtually unrecognizable as the Luke we know.

Yes, people go through experiences and change because of them. But we aren't given sufficient architecture for these changes that Luke has gone through in The Last Jedi, hence why it's so difficult if not impossible to reconcile. It’s also incredibly tone deaf and stupid. Luke Skywalker doesn't fuck off to Ireland to die like a miserable, cowardly damp sock. And he certainly doesn't even entertain the notion of killing an innocent boy who is also the son of his sister and best friend because the lazy incompetent screenwriter can't drum up conflict any other way. I could go on, but the bottom line here is that Johnson shit the bed, and left a huge mess for J.J. Abrams to fix for Episode IX. And, again speaking as an old school fan, The Last Jedi simply doesn’t feel like a Star Wars movie
