Game of Thrones Season 8

read thru that... wow, jon snow took his character fkin srsly lol. probably walks/talks like him irl... even marries a fkin wildling

hbo probably shoulda had him produce the rest of GOT

Fucking word. The only question I had from the dune books is who the Honored Matrons were running from. At least I got that answer, everything else was utter shit.

It was heavily hinted to be a face dancer-type people in book 5 and 6, but not the same type as those still in the original empire.

It sucks to know that such a huge epic 10 year saga of your life is over.

For 10 years Kit lived and breathed Jon Snow. The actors around him became like family to him.

Seeing it end so shitty, and saying goodbye to everyone... Must have been hard.

Hope the dude gets help and feels better.

He was a pussy on the show too. Life imitating art. I hope that's fake.

Word has it that during withdrawal he just kept muttering "You're muh queen," over and over again.

Dude makes millions with shitty acting. Never has to work again. Is married to a hot redhead. Now he's depressed because his show ended? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he has some real personal tragedy going on that we don't know about.

As an MD surely you know you're oversimplifying mental illness to an extreme. Actually this attitude from an American doctor doesn't really surprise me, sadly. Broken mental health system and all

as an MZ (magical zoo) surely u kno that mental illness is totally made up bullshit 4 high school girls who want xanax

The article, if true, made it sound like the end of GoT was what sent him into his depression. Like I said, I assumed it was deeper seated stuff at play, as I doubt he's quite that shallow or fragile.

I'm a critical care doctor, dude. Every day I see people with real problems: polytrauma, metastatic cancer, dead or dying family, etc. Forgive me if I have a hard time finding much compassion for a rich actor with a drinking problem and emotional diarrhea.

I do hope he finds a better head space, though. Mental illness is terrible, undertreated, and underappreciated. You may remember 7 years ago when I made a thread about my father jumping in front of a train. I have more than a little experience.

Maybe I'm being crass, a bit callous. Oh well.

*edit* I liked this thread better when we were all just railing on season 8

A Tabloid trying to give something a more rumorous quality than is actually warranted... quelle surprise. Now why would an entity that makes money selling gossip in print do that?

Yeah, it's not true. He was struggling for a while before. Media is full of shit, as per usual. Makes for a great story if they tie it to the shitty ending that everyone knows is shitty.

Yeah, but Robin Williams dude. Chris Cornell? I mean, I can make a giant list.

It's more often than not the richest and most "successful" people that off themselves.

It happens often enough that it should tip us all off that depression is a different beast.

I blame the media.

Robin Williams didn't die because of depression.

Robin Williams was diagnosed with Diffused Lewy Body dementia, which was likely genetic acting like a time bomb with a very slow fuse. At the moment he acted to kill himself, he may have had no idea who he was, where he was or what he was doing.
