2019-nCoV

Florida is on the march. They are looking at taking the #2 spot from Cali.

It's a race to see who can catch up with gross ass NY.

On the bright side, it would appear that the east coast version of it has disappeared, and the nation is catching the west coast version. Otherwise, the death count would be much higher.

Why is no one talking about this?

pubchart

Who gives a fuck what the number of cases are if no one is dying from it.

Let me guess, the deaths lag the cases, and just wait we'll have tons of dead!

Hospitals are getting better at treating it and are actually allowed to now the proper medications now (yes, there were certain medications they weren't allowed to use at first).

People wanting to lock down until there is a "vaccine" are living in a fantasy world (considering there isn't a mass market vaccine for a coronavirus in existence). We will progressively discover better treatment protocols and life will go on (eventually).

The biggest causes of the current spread are the protests, summer vacation, and people not taking masks seriously (they're not perfect but they do reduce the speed of the spread). :weird:

immunostaining showing the world that many probably had this shit last year

did i not make an argument regarding antibody testing while in a half drunken stupor months ago in this very thread?

i made another argument regarding the cdc and it's shady use of confirmed positives/presumably positives and discarding negative results completely, and deferring to town/city/municipality statistics

why did the cdc agree that cases of lobar pneumonia confirmed by ct scans were erroneous

compare lobar pneumonia ct with covid ct

this is all horseshit and bureaucratic

Moderna Announces Positive Interim Phase 1 Data for its mRNA Vaccine (mRNA-1273) Against Novel Coronavirus | Moderna, Inc.

my fear of mRNA vaccines and their "utility"

Headquartered in Cambridge, Mass., Moderna currently has strategic alliances for development programs with AstraZeneca PLC and Merck & Co., Inc., as well as the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Defense, and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), a division of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Moderna has been named a top biopharmaceutical employer by Science for the past five years.

States with steep Covid-19 increases "should seriously look at shutting down," Fauci says
Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said states facing steep increases in new Covid-19 cases "should seriously look at shutting down."
“Any state that is having a serious problem, that state should seriously look at shutting down. It’s not for me to say, because each state is different," Fauci said, speaking to The Wall Street Journal in a podcast published Wednesday.
Fauci said some states "went too fast" in their reopening, while others followed the guidelines, "but the people in the state didn't listen and just threw caution to the wind."
The nation's top infectious disease expert said simple public health measures such as closing bars, spacing out seating at restaurants, avoiding crowds and wearing masks will curb the increase in cases.

"Guarantee you're going to see that curve come down," Fauci told Kate Linebaugh, co-host of "The Journal" podcast.
Great! I cannot help but to think that my state will follow this advice and re-shut down everything. It's not like much has opened anyway so I am not too sure what else they can shut down. Bars never opened up around here and I think some outside dining areas opened but stores, aside from grocery stores, have been closed for months.

I cannot help but to agree with this ruling.

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro vetoes Covid-19 protections for indigenous people
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has vetoed several points of a law aimed at protecting indigenous communities against Covid-19 on Wednesday, according to the government's official journal.

The proposed legislation establishes an emergency plan to combat the pandemic in indigenous territories and classifies indigenous people and other traditional communities as "groups in situations of extreme vulnerability." Under the law, the groups would also considered at high risk for public health emergencies.

Brazil has recorded more than 1.6 million cases of coronavirus, the second highest tally globally behind the US, according to Johns Hopkins University.

The country's indigenous citizens have been hit hard by the pandemic. Indigenous people in Brazil often live in communities which are far from hospitals, in areas which often lack basic infrastructure. Those who move to towns or cities can end up in precarious living conditions with few public services, increasing their vulnerability to health issues.

According to the country's Special Indigenous Health Service (SESAI), more than 8000 Brazilian indigenous people have so far contracted the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.

Not sure where this author comes from but 8k is not hit hard when the nation as a whole has 1.6 million. Also, why would you need to write a few bills that target 1 specific race/class of people in a nation? This would be like the US writing special covid protections for darkies only. Doesn't that seem to be a little... racist?

Fauci has been wrong about just about everything, why does he get a free pass on this shit show?

Between the CDC and the WHO giving out straight dumbass advice, it wouldn't matter who the fucking President was. Counting terminally ill cancer patients as COVID deaths is just the tip of the nonsense.
