Samsung galaxy update KILLS battery life now

no, adblock android wide. though you just need root. you don't need to run a custom rom to have adblock.

i love my lumia920

but tbh i kind of miss my iphone's size cuz its like impossible to do many things with 1 hand

like using it at all in bed if youre on your side or something

i'm always hitting the search or back buttons with my palm cuz my hand cant stretch the length of the phone

The latest OTA update I got for my Atrix has an "applypatch" process taking up 50% of my cpu with no way to kill it. Opening facebook and a browser gets me a 90% cpu usage notification. Yay...

idk says here it breaks normal apps and no root required, am i looking at the wrong thing?

PLEASE NOTE: Adblock Plus might have limited functionality, depending on the Android version on your device and whether your device has been rooted:
Rooted: Blocks ads over Wi-Fi and 3G
Non-rooted with Android 3.1 or later: Blocks ads over Wi-Fi

plus that one sucks.

you want either one of these 2

both of which require root. i prefer adaway

Note 2 represent!

+1 for the Note 2. On topic some folks over at XDA have had similar issues with the latest Note 2 update(on Sprint, haven't checked other carriers). Some also report no issues. Some have found that factory resetting then updating doesn't exhibit these problems. I'm not about to do that though. I just keep hitting install later. At some point I'll modify the necessary files to stop it from nagging me. I'm running stock root and LOVE this phone. First phone I've owned that really feels like I won't want to replace it within a year.

S2 here. Battery life is horrible now, i also can't keep the 4g radio off. It keeps Turing itself back on.
Battery life for me has been steadily decreasing since the ics update for me.

Settings, more, mobile settings, connections optimizer... Disable this so 4g doesn't keep turning on and off.

I think I want an iphone sized galaxy.

One hand operation is a lot easier if it's iPhone size than bigger.
I think in time all phones will give options for pie menus, and alternative placement for activation for the 3 primary buttons.

Stretching to hit absolute kitty corner of a big phone while driving is annoying.
Gonna try paranoid android this week for this very reason. Too bad apps don't try for this kind of ui functionality

For use while driving try mounting a cradle somewhere. There is so much you can do with it in a vehicle: navigation, Torque, handsfree phone/text, etc.
