Progressive liberal

Look at it from their perspective. They think being liberals or progressives (whatever they exactly mean by that) makes you retarded. So they're just trying to call you retarded. Sort of like Validuz would, but with an expanded vocabulary.
 
if liberal is a dirty word, then anything tagged onto the front of it is supposed to make it even more insulting
 
Ok, so the majority of conservatives don't know the definition of words and therefore use any adjective to describe liberals, which in turn means retarded in their own mind.
 
It's more the connotation than the denotation, I think. "liberal" has become a byword for "head-in-the-clouds daydreamer with no spine." "Progressive" basically means bisexual. How these associations came to be is anyone's guess.
 
liberals prefer the term progressive over what they really are; Social Democrats, because of the stigma of the word socialist in the American politics.

Well now that's a philosophical debate. What are the definitions of words if not the meanings the individual users have in mind? The idea that some sort of dictionary has an ultimately correct definition is kind of stupid in my opinion.

I'd like to see your evidence for making a fantastic statement like that. It's progressives that are leading the movement to have the Patriot Act repealed.
 
I read that american Taliban book about the religious right a few weeks ago, while it may be extreme and all it pretty much sums up the mindset of the religious right

They are dumb fuck zealots, you cant expect intelligence or logic from them.

Then they are unable to cite the journalistic tenet that Juan was supposed to have violated.

Maybe in order to understand mankind we have to look at that word itself. MANKIND. Basically, it's made up of two separate words, "mank" and "ind." What do these words mean? It's a mystery and that's why so is mankind.
