Trump has not credibility. The Chinese know he is a paper dragon. Besides, we are 45 years too late to stop the rise of China, once Nixon and HenryK awoke China. The Chinese built their huge industrial capacity, technology, infrastructure.

US lack infrastructure, educated and discipline labor force. Trump can have all the tariffs he wants, but he does not have a coherent strategy, including reallocation of resources to STEM education, infrastructure, industrialization, etc

Bipolar dimwits tweets are not going achieve anything, China is not going to back down about their plan to be the next Superpower. They playing the long game. Don't see a point is being overexposed to unstable government policies.

In the Amazon rainforest, fire season has arrived. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Aqua satellite captured these images of several fires burning in the states of Rondônia, Amazonas, Pará, and Mato Grosso on August 11 and August 13, 2019.

In the Amazon region, fires are rare for much of the year because wet weather prevents them from starting and spreading. However, in July and August, activity typically increases due to the arrival of the dry season. Many people use fire to maintain farmland and pastures or to clear land for other purposes. Typically, activity peaks in early September and mostly stops by November.

As of August 16, 2019, an analysis of NASA satellite data indicated that total fire activity across the Amazon basin this year has been close to the average in comparison to the past 15 years. (The Amazon spreads across Brazil, Peru, Colombia, and parts of other countries.) Though activity appears to be above average in the states of Amazonas and Rondônia, it has so far appeared below average in Mato Grosso and Pará, according to estimates from the Global Fire Emissions Database, a research project that compiles and analyzes NASA data. (Note that while the chart label says 2016, the 2019 data is listed on all of the plots as a green line. Roll your cursor over the green 2019 block below the plot to isolate the 2019 numbers.)

The Greatest Generation members all lived through the Great Depression and many of them fought in World War II.

Washington Post columnist warns of need to 'burn down the Republican Party' to wipe out Trump supporters

Washington Post opinion writer Jennifer Rubin pushed for Americans to work together to "burn down the Republican party" in the hopes of extinguishing any trace of the enthusiasm for President Trump.

Rubin appeared on MSNBC's "AM Joy" Sunday and said that not only does Trump have to lose in 2020, but there must be a purging of "survivors" who still support the commander-in-chief.

"It's not only that Trump has to lose, but that all his enablers have to lose," she said. "We have to collectively, in essence, burn down the Republican Party."

"We have to level them because if there are survivors -- if there are people who weather this storm, they will do it again."
