World's apart fashion-wise. MJ had only a few wardrobe missteps in his career, more often than not he rock those outfits. Pharrell, while undeniably talented, dresses like he's trolling.

what you fail to realize is pop music, along with the fashion industry in general, is very derivative. take a little bit of this and a little bit of that. nothing is really "original" anymore. try to claim something is original, and I bet I can find something it is derived from.

get over that, and embrace how people "own" the particular look they are going for. if you ask me, pharell does a good job at "owning it"

ps: pharell was part of the neptunes, if that helps jog anyone's memory

further extending that... everything everyone wears or does is usually derivative in some sense or another. you can extend this to the very boundaries of our lives. we are all mimicking what we have seen in our lives, to some extent.
