Hugh Hefner is being wronged, and it is egregious.

I'm aware of what America did for him, but what did he do for America?

Sold us Playboys for a stratospheric profit? Supported the Navy by wearing a funny hat with an anchor sewn on the front? How was he a great American?

People dont like to acknowledge it, but people like Heffner and Larry Flynt were big on protecting 1st amendment rights.

Flynt was shot and paralyzed going to court over it, Hefner established the Hugh Hefner 1st Amendment Award in the late 70s

As far as adult industry stuff goes, Playboy was certainly not he most seedy out there. But porn has still had a bad effect on society so I don't really hold him in any positive light and no longer think its a good thing to grant him any sort of memory of being "cool." I've always been interested in Hugh Hefner though since I love stories of men who create their own specific world to live inside of. My parents would call me Hef sometimes because I'd always wear a robe at home starting at a young age. Still do today.

That one Ex that was on the show, Holly I think, is insane. She started talking shit about him right after he died. Other women said she started saying she was basically a live-in stalker of Hef who was obsessed with marrying him. She also started to do things like only eat the particular foods he would eat. Creepy stuff.

Although few would regard Hef as offensive today, he should be remembered as the first big swell of an industry that would only become more dark and destructive as time goes on. If you read about how few teen boys are having sex or even talking to women at all, it's the end of civilization. Porn has gotten so out of hand we can't remember people like Hugh Hefner as being cool.

I don’t know him personally, but I assume he was probably just another piece of shit elitist from California.

Okay, I fired up the google, which I'm loathe to do, and you're right.

First Amendment Organization | Right to Freedom of Speech Expression

Standing for the 1st Amendment is about as American as it gets.
You may have won the day, Juggernaut, but I shall return, stronger than you can possibly imagine. I don't have an evil laugh so you'll have to make do with my RBF.

I’d hardly call them 1st amendment heros because they wanted to protect the freedom to sling out porn to states that were against porn. You probably think Nambla is a victory for free speech too.

I don’t, free speech was about being able to criticize the government without fear of persecution or to speak religiously etc. founding fathers never intended it the way it is used today. How do you think they would have handled nambla? They’d be strung up.

The first amendment can be used in different ways. I believe Hugh Hefner thought he was doing good to society with the way he protected himself with the first amendment.

But there are many in his industry who see the first amendment as an opportunity to subvert culture and hurt people.

Also, we should remember that Israelis would have started to air pornography on Palestinian television before. Why would they do this to a people they consider their enemy?

Could be that jews are using porography to harm people they dislike under the guise of free speech, which they don't care about at all and simply use to subvert?

https://www.smh.com.au/world/middle...v-channels-say-residents-20020401-gdf5uw.html

This is how they treat their enemies in war:

Israeli troops who have taken over three Palestinian television stations in Ramallah are broadcasting pornographic movies and programs in Hebrew, irate residents say.

Soldiers occupied the offices of three local television and radio stations on Saturday morning,

and started broadcasting the porn clips intermittently on Saturday afternoon on the Al-Watan, Ammwaj, and Al-Sharaq channels, the residents said.

"I have six children at home; they have nowhere to go with what is going on here and can't even watch TV," Reema, a Palestinian mother, said.

"It's not healthy really. I think the Israelis want to mess with our young men's heads."

maybe not a free speech issue, but freedom in general is important

if some 18+ person wants to look at some consensual tits and gash they should be allowed to, not blocked because of retarded puritanical laws in their state

truly a genius idea for the idf to get the palestinians horny without contraception

this is 4d chess at its finest

Does porn promote having sex?

Todays teenager consume more porn than any generation of teenager ever and are the most undersexed generation we have ever seen.

Consider the men who would have the most sex in history. Probably some ruler who has a harem. The average 12 year old boy today has seen more naked women and sexual situations than that ruler has in their lifetime.

I do not disagree entirely, I just think it was an abuse of the intent the founding fathers of the US when they authored the free speech amendment.

It’s a dicey issue, sure, but there is a slippery slope to navigate like with abortion. Where do fed rights start and state rights end? If a states constituents what X to be regulated, but the Feds do not, then what?

You missed out on the Victoria's Secret?

If we couldn't get Sears, we sure as shit couldn't get lingerie.

I figured you would be an Atlanta Braves fan. : shrug:

Nah, I've been a Cleveland Indians fan since I was a wee one. We're the Guardians now, whatever. We've got a lot more problems than the dipshits that cried until we changed the name of the team, and round two of dipshits that no longer cheer for Cleveland because of the change.

It would be so nice, for example, if we could sign players that can strike the ball with the bat. If we could just fucking do THAT, it'd be a mighty change.

Nambla and nekid women aren't the same thing.

Thats the thing about the freedom of speech. It covers things you may not like

I'm sure I told you my cousin spent his whole career in their back office
