Which is horrendous. We're so afraid that "our side" might lose that we routinely vote in the same assholes over and over, which only serves to enable them to do whatever is their own self interest instead of their constituents'. Then you wind up with Ted Kennedy dying and somehow they lose the seat to a Republican and everyone's like WTF!?

Americans generally vote for incumbents though.

which is what you'll probably do because you're a sheeple obama supporter. i wish you would understand that this is not what our country needs, but you're a low information voter, too stupid to understand. :(

I didn't say that *I* tended to vote for incumbents, I said Americans generally do, which is true.

From there, you changed the subject to me personally and deduced that I'm a sheep, an Obama supporter, a low information voter, and stupid.

You're right, there is one.

Israel, minus the thinking part
No, the tail wags the dog here.

While the Repo's have been obstructionist, I see very little evidence of Obama leading. While he has upheld many of his small campaign promises, we had much higher hopes which stemmed from the excitement of his campaigns - he elevated our hopes and we naturally expected much more than the pithy he's delivered.

if you truly read what i said before you pigeonholed me, it would be at least believable that i am simply a pragmatist rather than a rabid partisan

I think the truly remarkable thing about Obama is what he's managed to accomplish despite being blockaded on every front since the day he stepped into office. He is reasonable with his actions, and he has genuinely good intent most of the time.

You sound like a white house press release.

who didn't see this coming? oh right, Obama didn't.

Terrorist Exchanged For Bowe Bergdahl Now Top ISIS Commander

Mullah Mohammed Fazi, one of the five Guantanamo Bay detainees released by the Obama administration in exchange for Bowe Bergdahl, has been confirmed to be currently in Iraq. Fazi, the Taliban’s former Defense Minister, is serving in a leadership capacity within the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS.

Reports indicate that Fazi, classified by a 2008 Pentagon dossier as being considered a high risk to the United States if released, appears to be heavily engaged in the systematic murder of Iraqs non-Sunni population. Internal Pentagon assessments say the strategy of wholesale slaughter carried out in ISIS occupied territories very well could have originated with Fazi. Many of the same techniques were utilized by the Taliban in Afghanistan to consolidate and strengthen their position under Mohammed Fazi’s direction.

News of Fazi’s involvement in the ISIS caliphate comes shortly on the heels of a finding by the nonpartisan Government Accountability Office that President Obama broke the law when he exchanged five Taliban leaders for Sgt Bowe Bergdahl. The White House has “strongly disagreed” with the GAO’s conclusions. White House spokesman Eric Schultz has said that,”We reject the implication that the administration acted unlawfully.”

Reminds me of your climate posts...

y do you think i'm ignorant?

i'm actually a pretty smart guy.

it's not a texan thing, it's an american thing. most americans are completely ignorant and clueless.

Is it time to note that congress has an even lower approval rating currently?

Give the complete plate of shit he was dealt coming into office and the stance of conservatives for noncooperation with Obama even prior to him assuming the job, he's done ok.

I don't like his continuation of the Patriot Act and associated erosion of rights.

I have no issue with our drone policy.

We're out of the biggest fucking war boondoggle we've ever been in in Iraq and Afghanistan...and didn't accomplish one damn thing in our decade plus war there.

He put the war on the books instead of being paid for by "emergency funding" as it was its first 8 years.

He's buddied up to the wall streets banks and financials same as previous.

In our system it is hard for any president to affect much change, especially with a portion of congress saying their #1 priority is to make you look bad and remove you from office.

Overall, yeah I suppose he's done alright, but I'll note while there's been a lot of hope there has been little change but that could be due more to him having little power to influence congress.
