G20 cop beats assault charge

It's just you came off saying people who were not already in the wrong place at the wrong time went out and got themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time for things such as toilet paper or food.

Which is kind of ridiculous, as well as not having a day and a half's worth of either. I am sure there are people out there without common sense enough to buy toilet paper before they are on their last roll, or to have more than a day and a half's worth of food, but this is not the norm nor does it constitute any kind of relevant percentage of the people you're talking about.

shit happens man, people run out of stuff. i know it sounds crazy but it happens! in the city you really don't have to worry about stocking up on stuff when everything is within a few blocks of you and most places are open 24/7

i used toilet paper as an example because literally, shit happens and sometimes you just get caught off guard. you don't really know the city or what it was like during the G20, but i can tell you from my personal experience that there was no reason to think that leaving your house to do something lawful would lead to being arrested.

and really, there should never be a time where you should fear being arrested when you've done absolutely nothing wrong. crime happens every day, it doesn't mean everyone should hide inside out of fear that the police might be overworked that day and they might just arrest everyone they see

i still find it funny though that Obibun thinks that any business can wait for a few days for stuff and it doesn't cost anyone money or have any consequences, the city can just shut down

and if something goes wrong, you just like, sue somebody

I get the overall point you're making, but the toilet paper was exaggerated to make that point.

Unless of course in Canada they only sell toilet paper in individual rolls. Then of course that kind of shit would happen.

No more need to argue/debate any of this, it was a fun discourse though. And now I will feel ashamed my daily post count is so high.

what can i say, im old and sometimes i forget things

so maybe i ran out of toilet paper earlier this week, even though i saw that i was low a few days earlier

trust me you'll forget a thing or two here and there when you get older and im pretty sure no one will arrest you when you go out to get it though so there's nothing to worry about

lol I'm sure I will forget a thing or two.

but I'm also pretty sure I'll be wiping my ass with newspaper before I go out and get caught up with violent protesters and police in riot gear.

Just saying. :sunny:

i feel ya, but unfortunately for those who lived in the area, there was no way to know where it was going to happen until it was too late

and seriously the spaghetti factory is gay and people should be arrested for eating there anyways, toilet paper or not

seriously you realize you are on the same side as arsin

this fact alone should end this fucking argument instantly

if at any time you find yourself on the same side as a creepy autistic crazy loser, you might need to reconsider your opinion
I've posted a pic of our home, and duplex, what have you got kid? A 'baller' attitude and the lastest version of Star Crafts.

You side with the cops on this one, cause you can't stand that anyone would stand up for anything other than your narrow self interests to wit; your booze, your drugs, your cok and your gamez. It's your envy that drives your opinion here. You just hate that someone would do something for the greater good, your selfishness and narcisim is outraged at such a thought.

I don't know who participated in the protest, I'm sure there were some disgruntled hippies et al. But I'm equally sure there were many good upstanding citizens wondering why we had to spend a billion dollars over a two week period supporting interests that are directly oppossed to the people (us taxpayers) who had to pay for this charade! lol at spending over a milllion on an artificial lake so that some Internationalist from Luxembourg could experience cottage country in a convention center in downtown Toronto. Surely he could of asked for an 8 car RCMP escort with a helicopter to drive him 2 hours north to experience the Muskoka's first hand? But no, our gobermentals thought a downtown party would be waycool.

They should of had the G8/G20 party in a military site and saved a billion. I think the final bill was $1.2 billion for a two week party for the elite. I just wonder what the payback was - other than a chance for some paranoid, over-entitled, ungrateful and aggressive cops could make some serious bank on OT.

yeah people who live downtown should have rented a hotel in Barrie for a few days

you're seriously the most sheltered, naive person on TW

only someone who had spent his entire life in school can tell everyone in the entire city to 'go do something else somewhere else' for a few days

i mean not even Fenton, who gave the order for the kettle thinks it was a good idea now, and the police have never been dumb enough to blame their stupidity on 'you shouldn't have been in Toronto during the G20'
youre still overreacting...how many people live in downtown "metro" toronto? How many people were arrested?

it seems to me a lot of people managed to either stay in or continue their lives without playing the "this is america i can go where i want" card without using an ounce of common sense. the news for weeks talked about the risks, the traffic detours, the fence... plus all the comedic aspects like the man made lake teehee

Fuck you for trying to go outside or be in their public area (that your tax money pay for....including their salaries).

You work for them, not the other way around.
im not sure i see anything wrong in these pics even without any context.

like im sure there are plenty examples of ass g20 rentacops but you all seem to think anytime a cop tunes up a retarded hippy that disobeys orders during a riot its somehow wrong.

people love seeing hippy rioters getting tuned up. you may as well be posting pictures of kitten with witty captions.

i dont get y it is bad 2 be a hippy
real hippies need to take it back.

new hippies are basically just jobless entitled 20 somethings with 3 year liberal arts degrees that heard about the g20 from some facebook group where they also upload and tag themselves in pictures during criminal acts.

real hippies are alright... just like singing and fucking all the time. we need more singing and fucking.

less aids, but you get the point

i think that like, everything should be free man

and we can like, live in peace and read books and grow plants and stuff

lol bros police taking over an entire city is totally cool just stay home

It was downtown...again I don't blame the police I blame the retards that picked downtown Toronto to host the thing.

Also another big learning that we got out of this debacle was that using too many police doesnt make things safer, it makes things less safe.

They need to manage the police presence a little more dynamically and balance preparedness and overcompensating

just hear me out. They need to manage money better, sure a billion for a party this year next year they'll "magically" be short some money so they'll be hiking up your tax rates, then the following year once they've made up that lost revenue they'll refuse to lower it... and throw another party...rinse and repeat till someone goes broke, looses their house, job, etc... and pow another "hippy" with a 3 yr "liberal arts" degree shows up.

the best part is I don't give a shit
How do we reconcile your quote above with the fact that you've made 85 posts, double the #2 poster? :ftard:

And Pagy, you've made a decision about the G8/G20 Show without knowing basic facts. For one who claims to argue from reason, you came into this with a mind already made up. Your conceit

You have some serious issues. Do take a moment (or two or even a whole month) to do a little self evaluation. Best of luck dealing with ... you.

Can someone post some facts, about our "caring and sharing" Premiere and his "caring and sharing" Liberal gov't who secretly passed that Riot Act.

About the Police who somehow mis-read the Riot Act thereby arresting/harassing anyone within 5m of the security fence?

What was the physical costs of the Riot compared to the financial loss of downtwon business owners who were effected by security measures completely unrelated to crowd behaviour? Did the gov't reimburse them for cordoning off streets and shutting down their business for a week or two?

How many rioters were there? and how does this compare to how many protestors there were?

If we are so concerned about the costs due to rioting, why do some idiots seem to ignore teh costs of holding the in a downtown area which had to practically be turned into a military zone? Why didn't they hold it on a military base? Was our gov't really concerned about costs? or just about costs that didn't feed their bureaucracies?
