u ok @scoobs?

perfectly fine thank you.

Are you? You post the same thing daily in a very unfunny satirical tone. Since you don't ever post a alternative solution I can only guess the rage within you must be great.

Or you are stupid.

(or both)

Finland ends universal basic income experiment

At a glance | Universal basic income

Universal basic income is a form of cash payment given to individuals, without means testing or work requirements. In some models this is at a rate sufficient to cover all living expenses.

Proponents argue that:

The lack of expensive means-testing leads to a higher proportion of the budget going to recipients. This would be more efficient
The transparency of universal payments would drastically reduce the need to detect benefits fraud
One scheme could replace the current complex arrangement of government benefits, rebates and tax rebates
Work will always benefit recipients of this welfare, rather than the ‘benefits trap’ that leaves part-time workers

Critics argue that:

Universal income may be inflationary and, in attempting to move all individuals out of poverty, it may simply raise the level of the poverty line
It may reduce the incentive to work and studies have found some evidence to support this.
A reduction in taxable income would reduce the government’s ability to cover other expenses, such as healthcare

Universal income as a policy dates from at least Thomas Paine’s 1795 Agrarian Justice. It is currently more closely aligned with left-wing politics, where it would be funded through income from nationalised assets.

Several countries are currently experimenting with a universal basic income, including Finland, Canada, Kenya and the Netherlands.

Parkland shooting survivor questioned by school security for visiting gun range | Daily Mail Online

Anti-gun control student, who survived the Parkland shooting, has been questioned by school security for visiting a gun range with his father.

Kyle Kashuv went to the gun range to learn to fire a gun for the first time on Friday.

He posted photos and videos of himself holding the AR-15 as he was instructed how to shoot the weapon.

'It was great learning about our inalienable right of #2A and how to properly use a gun,' Kashuv tweeted, referring to the Second Amendment.

This was my first time ever touching a gun and it made me appreciate the #Constitution even more. My instructor was very informative; I learnt a lot. #2A is important and we need 2 preserve 2A,' he added.

Kashuv believed his visit to the gun range was harmless, but students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School did not.

When he arrived to school on Monday he was called out for his actions and instructed to see the school's armed resource officer.

We already did this experiment in the late 60's and the outcome was actually successful, but the demographics had a lot to play into it. What's hilarious is the people who were in charge of the experiment.

Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld ran a universal basic income experiment for president Richard Nixon — Quartz

The much-cited New Jersey project involved more than 1,300 families, some of them living in rural Pennsylvania. The control group was made up of people living below the poverty line who were not offered any subsidies. Families in the experimental group were given federally funded supplements so that their income was at or just above the poverty line.

Among their goals, the researchers were curious about what basic income would do to recipients’ productivity and work ethic. They found that federal payments did little to discourage breadwinners in the families from working: The men who were given a basic income worked one hour less per week, while women reduced their work week by five hours. Mothers in the program spent more time with their children, whose performance at school improved.

The same study was replicated in Gary, Indiana, as well as Seattle and Denver, and all offered evidence that a guaranteed income’s effect on work ethic was “nil,” says Livingston. As the New York Times reported in 1970, Congress was convinced by Rumsfeld’s experiment and approved his proposed measure to replace welfare with this more streamlined system. The Senate didn’t approve the plan, however, and the issue faded. Nixon, too, turned against the idea.

I posted the wrong article.. heh.

University of Tampa junior Casey Bauer believes this is the year that his peers will make a difference at the polls.

But just last week he struggled for the attention of fellow college students during a registration drive, even with his offer of bacon-sprinkled mini-donuts.

“Sorry, I’m carb free,” a University of Tampa student said as she hustled by Bauer, also a field organizer for the progressive NextGen America.

Across six of the seven largest counties, there were 4,500 fewer registrations among 16- to 25-year-olds compared to the same point in 2014. The largest county, Miami-Dade, could not provide historical data for registrations.

The numbers counter a popular narrative since February’s deadly massacre in Parkland that asserted there was an awakening among teens and young adults. This theory was bolstered by local and national rallies on gun violence, orchestrated high school walkouts, and an unusual number of young candidates who filed to run.

Yet even in Broward County — where 17 high school students, teachers and staff died in a February shooting that sparked a national movement to stop gun violence — there are fewer new registrations.

About 6,300 16- to 25-year-olds in Broward signed up to vote since the start of the new year, 2,700 less than during the same period in 2014.
