[TV] What would you get with $2500?

my parents just bought a new house and my dad wants me to help him buy a tv for the place. hes got $2500 and wants something >60 inches thatll last him for a long time. 3d isnt important. curved is probably a no as well, this will be mounted on a wall.

what would you guys get?

Yeah I wouldn't spend $2500 on a TV but $1500 for that TV seems fine.

This, especially when you can find it onsale for $1800-2000. It was 1899 at best buy a few weeks ago. The 2016 samsungs will be out before too long, so the price should drop more.

The Sony XBR65X850D is a newer model and isn't bad, but i'd still take the samsung.

For me, spending $2,500+ on a non-OLED tv right now is as dumb as spending $4,000+ on an actual OLED.

I'd spend around $1,000 for something decent to last the next 3-5 years and wait for the price drops.
