The vaunted "sacrifice" of US military goons

MRE's were listed as a benefit because they're more nutritious and tasty than what Appalachians eat on a daily basis AND you don't pay for them when you're enforcing for the MIC. So far we have a full page, albeit with some senile spam shitposting by SenileFag, but nobody has given a single argument as to what these green niggers "sacrifice" when they go hat in hand to uncle Sam.
 
urrr stupid absent. I think they have a supplement marketed for that. Won't work for you but it will increase your bidness

It's also opportunity cost your giving up a higher paying career outside in private sector

Though most of these people probably wouldn't cut it in the private sector

I already addressed that in the OP, perhaps go back and read it. Dying in combat, the only unique hazard in the military, is also not particularly high. Combat-related deaths were only around 27 per 100k 01-10. Driving a garbage truck is more dangerous than combat. When you sign up for a military, you're also acutely aware of this potential extra risk, so it isn't a sacrifice. A sacrifice also as a word implies some sort of good for others, no such end is achieved when you catch lead in the US Terrorist Forces.
 
They sacrifice their time, their plans, and in some cases their lives. Spend months or years away from their families. Great for fucking up marriages, engagements, missing important births, deaths, etc and the distinct possibility to get sent to a place you've never heard of to get shot at by people you don't know and possibly come home pretty fucked up

The average goon who signs up for the murdermachine has no better use of their time, no plans and who cares about their lives. Many people in the civilian world spend months and years away from their families, like fishermen who can spend long periods of time away, or other sailors. Many of these goons also sign up specifically so they can go legally kill other people for no reason other than bloodlust, so they're fucked in the head.

Not a sacrifice.

every job makes you move away from your home, to another country, into billets that in some places border on unsafe to live and literally control you 24hrs a day for 4 years at a time?
