[slickdeals] I don't think you can find Diablo 2 + LoD cheaper: $4.91

I was wondering this myself before buying. Looks like it can be done.

Diablo 2 in a Window
Although not documented, you may run Diablo 2 in a Window instead
of full-screen. Simply add "-w" to your Diablo 2 shortcut. (ie:
"C:\Diablo 2\Diablo II.exe" -w)

Worked fine for me, downloading D2 now. BTW to get it to be 4.91 you gotta register first before going to the purchase page.

anyone from outside the USA get this to work? i'm still getting 403 error

proxy opens the site, my IP no go. might be a blanket ban or outside USA thing... hrm

This download is so damn slow i have no idea how you guys are already playing, heh.
I'm on DSL which is notorious for slowing down downloads when my upstream is saturated. Since Blizzard's downloader defaults to "Enable Peer-to-Peer Transfer" and doesn't have an option for limited upload bandwidth I had to disable that option. Check "View -> Preferences" to change it.

I'm just downloading from the HTTP host and it's going at around 200kB/sec in bursts.

Im installing now, and will be on my ventrilo if anyone wants to play. You can find the info on the Warhammer sub forums.

I've heard there's a mod out there that lets you run Diablo 2 at higher resolutions, but apparently you can be banned from Battle.net for using it. That's pretty fucking stupid.

probably because its an exe hack and it sets off their alarms for various other cheats?

just a WAG but i wouldnt be suprised if that was close to the mark

Also I have a game up on BNET east. Starting new characters.

Edit: LoD CD wont work with D2 Download, welp, waiting to download LOD before I start

Blizz's reason is that it gives people with a larger monitor an unfair advantage in PVP. Part of that is that spells don't have a max range, meaning that if you had a smaller monitor, you can be killed even before you see the other player. I think there's a lot of serious PVPers that have developed a lot of strategies involving the screen size and casting at the edge of the screen, so that increasing the resolution can fuck with that.

A lot of people have suggested that a good solution would be to make people closer to the edge of the screen (on larger resolutions) be invisible, so that there is no advantage. I think Blizz just doesn't want to do any more development on an ancient and soon to be replaced game.

Personally though, 1440x900 would greatly improve the game for me.

The cd-key from that site is not working for the installer anyone run into this problem?

you have to get the 26 didgit cd key from the site that you downloaded it from. Click the "see cd key" thing and copy/paste it.

Hmm sites still down for me too, are there any other cdkey sites for like 10 bucks i can purchase d2 from (legit)

CDKey-Store.com

and

http://diabloaddict.com/

there like 6-8$ for diablo2+LOD keys...

I bought from both of these in the last 3 days... the only thing is it seems who ever runs them sends the keys manually so it may take 10min to get one or 1.5days.

I thought sites like this were always scams that just used CD-key generators. I mean, how could they have thousands of cd keys lying around when Blizzard still charges 20 bucks for Diablo II and 20 bucks for the expansion?
