Serious Question 4 Liberals

if u want 15-17$ an hour

go to ur local ironworkers union and do some rodbusting as an apprentice for a year or carrying 150lbs of bolts up 15 layers of scaffolding all day long

430am to firewatch w/ itchy fucking fiberglass fireblankets to cover up glass or shit u dont want to fuck up w/ hot beads only to catch a hot bead down the back of your neck from cutting angle above you

i did it for a year, i'd rather flip burgers for min wage

u want paid, earn it

after your first year, they might let u on some angel wings to weld

for a cpl more bux an hr as a journeyman

get real dudes

all this shit is going to be automated within a decade or two

jobs r going bye bye

universal income is our future

and you are expecting people to just fall in line with universal income? Fat chance there sport. Not gonna happen... not while society is armed in the usa. MAGA

universal income is a great study

this concept that everyone gets it, at some baseline, but also encourages you to work, do something, make an effort, if you want more than that isn't entirely unfair.

but how well does a universal income really work?

we know that giving out money to people raises the cost of living. that highest cost of living places in the country are where people earn the most amount of money. the lowest cost of living places are where people earn the least.

so you figure out where poverty level line is and give people a little more than that each month. problem is that this likely drive up prices and then everyone will be right back in poverty again. so you raise the amount......and again the cost of living goes up. you just keep chasing your tail.

and not to mention who pays for the basic income? taxing robots?

Bill Gates wants to tax robots, but one robot maker says that's 'as intelligent' as taxing software

yeah....except bill gates wouldn't admit his shit is automating anything

so we blame the software maker or the hardware maker?

or the guy who combines it?

it just has so many holes in the idea and everything is just so silly sounding. implementing it would be very amusing though

i mean lots of arguments for it.....but like UHC no real solid ways of implementing it or paying for it other than with more ponzis

that is exactly why actual men don't need to fight for 15 an hour

it largely comes automatically with hard work that they just do

roofer, drywall, painter, welder, handyman, yard maintenance

only more feminine betas, who can't lift, can't learn a skill, can't troubleshoot, can't go outside, have to demand wages beyond their immediate ability to earn

mike rowe dirty jobs

not one of those people earn less than 15 an hour

maybe the crab pickers......but i can't think of too many others tbh

what percentage of those jobs offer healthcare to their employees bloops

jfccccc clu such a insuffrable pussyass lil faggetass bitch y do him even wake up each morn idgi smdh lol :jester:

making oneself dependent on construction as a career is laughable there are crests and valleys in this industry all the time. the minimum wage needs to be raised a little (not to $15) and we need an aggressive outreach for means-tested education in science/stem/educational fields.

You can't arbitrarily raise minimum wage, there really shouldn't be a minimum wage.

Labor is a product, you can't artificially set the price of a product, the market sets the price, If your work is worth $15 an hour to a company, they will pay you 15 an hour..if its not, you can't force them to pay you 15 an hour for work that is only worth $8 an hour to them

and maternity leave

and pensions

and and and and

let me guess

u one of those college grads who didn't do STEM

but swears if he did it all would have worked out so much better for him in life

and that is why you are unemployable and incapable of earning 15 an hour or even finding any job at all right now

when the President has to create an infomercial for your job occupation maybe it isn't as rad or clear cut as you think it is

why he felt he had to do this

Obama Administration proposes massive increase in H-1B visas

“The Administration’s proposal not only ignores the fact that there are more than enough home grown STEM workers to perform these jobs, but it is also foolhardy on two accounts. First, it brings us one step closer to enacting the massive expansion of a drastically flawed guest worker program that is both abusive to foreign guest workers who are essentially wedded to one employer who pays them a fraction of the labor market wage, as well as to American workers who are displaced by visa recipients.

despite millions of engineers being incapable of finding any work in their fields of study already

i still laugh at my poor buddy who got his MS in EE and couldn't get out of Circuit City

or dude who quit work with me who became a cop in New Mexico because of how dumb the work became
