Red Dead Redemption coming May 2010

I made a thread about this a while ago, but this one's better. Please excuse me for pimping my game, it's turning out really awesome and is getting close to shelves, and I'm pretty proud of what the R* team has accomplished:

Free co-op DLC announced:

And a nice preview using "Final" code (which is more or less final, but close enough):

Choice quote comes right off the bat:
There are certain games you love from the very first moments. Half-Life was a classic example – its opening sequence was so assured and so immersive, it set you up perfectly for the grandstanding adventure to come. Super Mario 64 with its immediately captivating world was the same… For me, Red Dead Redemption will surely soon be on that list.

UPDATE 4/29/2010
More previews, this time with some SP details
!SPOILERS! (this is mostly just a plot summary of the opening 6 hours)

UPDATE 4/22/2010
Another MP video! This time competitive gametypes. And yet more to come...

UPDATE 4/08/2010
First Multiplayer Details!
Trailer:

And some previews:

Red Dead Redemption's Sweet Multiplayer - Xbox 360 Preview at IGN
"Red Dead Redemption's lobby system is much more than a simple place to hang out. It's massive and dynamic and puts almost any other open world game to shame."

Red Dead Redemption Hands-on Preview for PS3 - VideoGamer.com
"In some ways, the Western setting feels more suited to this kind of multiplayer hi-jinx, because rather than a dense city, there's loads of room to gallop about, to snipe at each other and to generally act like a homicidal fool in a Stetson... Red Dead Redemption has the potential to be one of the definitive gaming experiences of the year."

UPDATE 3/30/2010
Glowing reviews from PAX East (which R* dominated):
PAX East 10: Red Dead Redemption Progress Report - PlayStation 3 Preview at IGN
PAX: Inside Red Dead Redemption’s Alluring Wild West | GameLife | Wired.com
Red Dead Redemption Preview: I'm A No Good Dirty Horse Murderer - Red dead redemption - Kotaku

The game was hands-on playable, but the line was VERY long. It sucks that people had to wait so long, but the R* booth was about as big as PAX will let you have it. I guess it's a testament to how much buzz RDR is starting to generate.

UPDATE 3/24/2010
Two things:
1. another new "flavor" trailer:

2. A leaked article about MP that's not fully edited and isn't supposed to be up yet and I probably shouldn't link to, but here it is:
Found the Multiplayer Article Cached on Google!!!!.....Enjoy! - Red Dead Redemption Message Board for Xbox 360 - GameFAQs

UPDATE 3/17/2010
1. Release date pushed back to May :(. This was actually a surprise to me as IMO the game is very nearly finished. But ultimately it's a good thing because it gives everybody more time to polish.
2. New trailer: "Life in the West"

UPDATE 2/26/2010
It's RDR week on IGN! Some preview articles:
Hands on preview:
Red Dead Redemption Hands-on - Xbox 360 Preview at IGN

Story and fiction write-up:
Red Dead Redemption: Once Upon a Time in the West - Xbox 360 Feature at IGN

Choice quote:
It's helped along by some typically sterling voice work – and if you'll excuse the hyperbole Red Dead Redemption's cutscenes highlight the fact that Rockstar works in a different stratosphere to many of its competitors in this area, its game's digital actors easily eclipsing the likes of Heavy Rain and Mass Effect 2 by delivering dialogue that's both characterful and nuanced.

My favorite trailer:

Some other recent ones:
"The Law"

"Gameplay Introduction" with weird History Channel narration:

I'll try to keep this thread updated when new stuff is released.

Intriguing. I'm probably going to hate the fire fights though if you have to use the console standard third person view.

A friend told me about this and i thought it sounded great , then i looked at the site and realised it was for XBOX and PS3. Yeah - no thanks

Red Dead Revolver multiplayer was the best console FPS multi since goldeneye.

So yeah I hope this lives up to it.

i thought that this thread was going to be about the red dread coming back and posting again

but now i see that it is not
