I've highlighted the differences in options.
I want the Ford. I like the new body of the 2012s. They've upped their standards to their euro manufacturing so quality is much higher from what I understand. I love the interior layout and having the 8" MyFord Touchscreen to use for navigation, connect my phone to it so it shows me incoming calls, reads text messages out to me while I drive, provides dual climate control. The bigger engine will help with lugging around my wife's business paraphenalia in the back, of which there is more room thanks to the Hatchback rather than the Sedan.
She likes the Elantra because she hates Ford, has had bad experiences with them in the past, thinks I find the gadgets inside too enticing rather than focusing on a quality vehicle (I love the gadgets, but Ford is making solid vehicles now imo).
Price wise they are both almost identical with the above options. As for fuel economy, the Elantra wins, but not by a landslide.. coming in at 58mpg, while the Focus has 54mpg.
Any opinions?
