Learning to speak another language?

Like I said he was a horrible professor. He either retired or got fired because when I looked at the course catalog this summer he wasn't teaching anymore.

I spent about a year teaching myself Japanese in highschool. I was pretty decent at it. I could read and write katakana and hiragana. I also knew a couple dozen kanji and could follow basic conversations.

I haven't done much with it for 5 years or so, though. Now I can only recognize about 3/4th of the katakana table on sight and maybe 1/4th of the hiragana one. And the only kanji I know off the top of my head is "tsuki," and that is only one pronounciation. :p

I took Spanish in highschool, but I dropped it because half of the class was Puerto Rican and it moved along far too quickly since every person but me already knew the fucking language.
What I did learn, though, wasn't overly difficult. I still remember a little.
