You know anything about water in a BMW X4 transfer case?
Its bad. My first question would be how the hell does it get in there? I thought they were sealed.
Does it have a drain plug? me no experience with 4wd or rear drive vehicles.
Driving through a foot of water. Manual says it can wade to 50cm (about 20 freedom inches). Drives Ok mostly but judders a bit on slow tight turns. Got it booked in for a look. Only 5 months old, if it's flood damage insurance should cover it.

Depends on the damage. Certain types of water damage is a full write off. Vehicle could be totaled.
Also if you drove it into the water they might refuse coverage. Dunno how laws are by you, but I've heard of people being held liable for their own decisions in the US.
