The GOP's Biden-Burisma investigation was borne out of the impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, which was sparked by a complaint over a call he made last summer to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy during which he asked the country's leader to look into Hunter Biden and former Vice President Joe Biden.
Hunter Biden has come under scrutiny by Republicans for his past work at Burisma while his father was tasked as vice president to root out corruption in Ukraine. And one of Trump's closest allies pushed an allegation that Biden recommended then-Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin's removal because he was looking to investigate Burisma.
But no evidence of wrongdoing or misconduct by either Biden has emerged, and the claims have been largely debunked.
