We are currently witnessing a major epidemic caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019- nCoV). The evolution of 2019-nCoV remains elusive. We found 4 insertions in the spike glycoprotein (S) which are unique to the 2019-nCoV and are not present in other coronaviruses. Importantly, amino acid residues in all the 4 inserts have identity or similarity to those in the HIV-1 gp120 or HIV-1 Gag. Interestingly, despite the inserts being discontinuous on the primary amino acid sequence, 3D-modelling of the 2019-nCoV suggests that they converge to constitute the receptor binding site. The finding of 4 unique inserts in the 2019-nCoV, all of which have identity /similarity to amino acid residues in key structural proteins of HIV-1 is unlikely to be fortuitous in nature. This work provides yet unknown insights on 2019-nCoV and sheds light on the evolution and pathogenicity of this virus with important implications for diagnosis of this virus.

Well it is somewhat more infectious than SARS, but its way less likely to kill you.
SARS mortality rate was 10%
Wuhan is 2-3%
Ebola for reference is 50%
Rabies wins at 100% though.

Then again flu season in the US alone kills anywhere from 10 000 - 80 000 people

Yeah, actually. I got a lot done. I had 1 inspection this morning and it was down the street from me. lol. After that, I've been stuck in my office all day.

*edit - Friday's are my easy day. Monday's... not so much.

You do realize the flu has a 0.1% mortality rate, right? Even at 3% this would be 30x worse, and that's using China's bogus data (where they don't have enough kits to keep up with daily testing). :worried:
 
yeah I'm not sure how anyone can trust the "official" numbers from China right now

we call them a currency manipulator, a free speech suppressor, but we just blindly accept their admittedly very distorted and broken and incomplete national health org data?

I mean they admit they ran out of the ability to even do daily testing for this

they admit they don't even know the accuracy of their tests

they are cremating what appears to be all bodies even possibly associated with it who die at hospitals (or elsewhere)

they are quarantining millions of people in very close proximity who may or may not have it

they are apparently not attributing death by organ failure or pneumonia or other IDS issues that are associated and caused from getting this flu

cause of death pneumonia .......... so not a nCoV death sorry not sorry statistics

these all skew the stats far beyond their already bad and dishonest attempts to intentionally skew the stats.

Going on official numbers of dead vs. recovered this isn't the flu

going off numbers of people needing to go to the ICU between even 20-35 (those who have the best chance of beating it) this isn't the flu

I mean this is some very interesting and crazy shit and we don't know the facts on because anyone who really gets into the details of it are being shut off the internet for making people panic...........which is obviously both good and bad

because people are panicking like crazy

so now all we have are the official :lies: by proven liars to go off of

which might bring you comfort but doesn't do much for me atm........

it is as comforting as a warm smoke enema.......

All things considered, this is probably better than the 2015 pabstblueribbon virus which caused people to break out in facial hair and plaid
