No Laurie For Me (NLFM)

Actually my life is pretty great.

If you're asking why I'm the person who sometimes has to point out the punching bag, well I don't really have an answer for it. If I am at fault fo any of it then it is because I'm transparent. He will read this and have no idea that he's been tw's clown for like 30 years.

failcuck knows punching bags. he's been one here for a looooong time now.

Not throwing shade, but why not pick up a 2019 or 2020 model with low miles? Let someone else take the hit on depreciation.
Because the newer model gets better gas mileage (cylinder deactivation) and has more horsepower.

The other reason is I wanted a perfect engine that hasn't been ragged out. Dealers will say the first oil change doesn't need to happen until 10k miles but that's wrong. The first oil change should happen at 1k miles, 5k, and then every 5k.

The last reason is the car was brand new, only had 5 miles on it, and we can now do a proper break in (Avoid Reving Enging and no long road trips) until 600 miles.

I've had cars that "used" oil and I'm tired of it. This is caused when the oil is not changed enough, and the cylinder rings get junked up. My Charger and Ashley's Scion uses oil. It's because my friend is an Amsoil dealer, I was using that oil and he would tell me it didn't need to be changed but once a year. That was wrong. Watch this video.

I think NGFM is a good new car owner.
For me, I've bought new except for the last 10 years.
I was pretty good keeping the cars up for the first 10 years
and then amazed at how well they ran for the next 10 not caring

In fairness NGFM, modern machining and blueprinting technologies have radically minimized the need for a 'proper' break-in period and by extension that first important oil change.

However, you still made the correct call. With used vehicle prices being so inflated, a 1 year old used one doesn't eat up remotely as much depreciation as it once did. It's much nicer to start fresh when the savings are so nominal.

Also, I worked for Mazda and can attest they build rather reliable vehicles. Their SkyActiv model lends itself to a better amalgamation of performance and efficient without sacrificing reliability. Well done and congrats!

The new car is running great and really nice to drive.

The misuse of the term WAGYU is out of control. It's being used in fast food commercials to describe beef. Are you kidding me? Let's look it up.
Wagyu - Wikipedia

I have an idea of what's happening here. A fast food place buys some Japanese cows, brings them to the states, breeds them, and says, "We've got WAGYU beef."

The term would also imply the cows are raised in a nice way, but I don't think someone is massaging hundreds of cows in a field like they do in Japan.
