Things we know about Obama's Energy Plan

first of all CAGW in this context means Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming but since u dont even know that im not even gonna bother answering u

who doesnt know shit now huh?

Your only issue is with reality Cael, as with so many people who go through life with their head up their ass looking for the answers they want instead of the answers that are there but for the researching.

Volcanic Gases and Climate Change Overview
Volcanic versus anthropogenic CO2 emissions

Do the Earth’s volcanoes emit more CO2 than human activities?

Research findings indicate that the answer to this frequently asked question is a clear and unequivocal, “No.”

Human activities, responsible for a projected 35 billion metric tons (gigatons) of CO2 emissions in 2010 (Friedlingstein et al., 2010), release an amount of CO2 that dwarfs the annual CO2 emissions of all the world’s degassing subaerial and submarine volcanoes (Gerlach, 2011).

Obama: Drilling alone is not an energy plan - Yahoo! Finance

Obama hits back at Republican criticism of high gas prices | Reuters

1) We know that Obama has not in the past 3 years adopted an energy plan
2) We know that Obama is taking credit for increased domestic energy
3) We know that Obama is blocking the XL Pipeline which would allow for Canadian oil (and domestic oil like Bakken/MT to tap into it) into the refineries of Oklahoma/Tx
4) We know that Obama had stopped Caribbean permits for a year, and dragged their feet for another year.
5) We know of the Solyndra fiasco in Solar
6) We know he isn't working towards any nuclear (this was clear vs. McCain who wanted to break ground on new nuclear)
6) We know the administration is attempting to sanction Iran's Oil output (its 4mm BOPD, this is approx 6% of total oil production), and allows for more hostilities over Straits of Hormuz

Things we know about Energy policy:

1) T.Boone Pickens has a pickensplan which has been out for a while:
PickensPlan
This plan is about energy independence and Natural Gas

sounds like obama is starting to pick from it a bit now... and won't cite any sources.

2) What's wrong with Drill, Drill, Drill? Does he not understand that (1) most of our energy comes from fossil fuels, you have to drill for those, does he not understand that you have to mine for rare earths in order to build Solar and Wind?

3) Many sources suggest that Solar isn't financially viable until sustained $200/bbl oil

4) We know incumbent parties don't stay in power in years with high and increasing oil prices: see Carter, GHWBush, Gore, McCain

5) We know that Nat Gas works for automobiles, they've been running fleets of them for 30+ years, we also know that we're sitting on huge huge reserves of nat gas and its cheap (equivalent seems to be 1/6th the price... i'm bad at BOEPD conversions)

with such a mild winter we should have seen a drop in gas prices with the excess, but $4 a gallon gas here while shipping the oil overseas isnt helping "the working family" mr. obama

3: My understanding is that he is not blocking Keystone XL, but that the environmental review could not be conducted in the required timeframe.
4: There was a substantial disaster that you may have heard about.
6: I'm sorta with you, but I think even Japan is reconsidering nuclear in the wake of Fukushima. We have not dealt with the problem of storing spent nuclear fuel, and there is no leadership in the country capable of doing so in the current environment.
7: As you know, there is fear of them developing nuclear weapons.

B: Due to climate change and deposit depletion, we expect that the world will shift away from fossil fuels. Obama thinks it's better to be in front of that change than behind it, so we can sell solar panels (or whatever) instead of buying them.

C: I think there is hope that improvements in the technology will reduce the cost.
3. He's asked several times to delay it until after the election. Plus everything was worked out with the governors and with alternate routes... This isn't even for the final breaking ground

4. Understood, but there is no policy about how we proceed. If you don't define what we allow and disallow, you open the system up to uncertainty, This leads to volatility. (Speculators LOL)

6. We have tons of nuclear plants that need to come offline soon. We need a policy to declare one way or another the plan. Probably will be more nat gas plants but that would be good for the economy.

7. You can't blame speculators for driving up prices because you're trying to cutoff 6% of the worlds supply and that nation could cause 15% of supply to have delivery issues. Its not speculators but Macro economics 101

B. He's got to make that policy then. You can't lose 500 million to solindra, have other companies backout of contracts to build solar plants and unsubsidize solar. China has more rare earths to build the products and they do it much cheaper.

C. There isn't the money to develop it. Especially with the $2.50 nat gas, and tons of oil development for the next bunch of years

record nat gas storage and record low prices. Nat Gas E&P diverting projects because its soo cheap its not economic for them to drill more wells. We can definetely do more.

On a side but related point... Because of the 1920 Jones Act we cannot ship Nat Gas to Puerto Rico or Hawaii.

Both these places need powerplants and its expensive/dirty to run their plants on oil/coal,etc.

but the US has the 1920 jones act which says that you can't transport goods between two US ports unless the vessel was made in the USA. Since the US doesn't make LNG Tankers, they can't ship NG to either place.
