in nyc they charge 10 bucks for a beer even if the place has a cover. i tip one dollar per drink. if you can't afford to tip that you shouldn't be out.
never let a girl pressure you for a tip. if she asks you for a tip at the end 9 times out of 10 the dance wouldn't warrant a tip anyway. some girls ask just to make the guys feel uncomfortable and it works way too often.
first find out the hours of the strip club. lets say a place is open only at night, you want to show up 3-4 hours before close, and not right when it opens. now you have half a night to get your buddy drunk pregaming, so you won't need to overspend for him at the strip club. if you want to keep him happy, i'm assuming dances are 20 in toronto, so at a place like the brass rail you'd probably need to budget 2-300 just for your friend. the rest of the group should chip down for it.
