You're right, I was vague, you immigrate and emigrate from and to.

A better way to say it is what I already said: when you are moving somehwere, you're emigrating. When someone is moving to you, they are immigrating.

"Emigration is the act of leaving one's country or region to settle in another."
"to emigrate from Ireland to australia."

As I said.

Just an fyi for those interested in detail, I didn't mean to be pedantic.
