also I was thinking about the theory of Rhaegar and Lyanna Stark being Jon Snows real parents, and the only thing that makes little sense to me about it would be how it could possibly be revealed. Ned never apparently talked about it to anyone and it would appear as though everyone who might know that truth would be dead.

See I like Addy's Robert, it's not exactly how I would picture him back in his skinny warhammer punching in Rhaegars armor days. Yet in his fat drunken party days, thats how I picture him. Although Addy is a little short, camera work can fix that.

Yes I like the character so far (we'll see more depth next week). Robert isn't a "great man" any more.

He's a typical Martin character. He would probably have been seen as heroic when taking the throne, but now he's a warrior with no war who gets drunk.

the reeds are sweet. it seems like the reeds and the starks are the practically only two uncorruptible houses at this point.

Well they make references to them potentially being in love, or that he raped her, he goes back and forth on that depending on who is doing the retelling. It would make sense though that Jon would be a link between the Starks and the Targaryen's. The 3rd Dragon of the prophecy

Whenever I talk to people about books I'm always surprised at just how little they actually take away from them. It makes me feel like people just run their eyes over the pages to get to the next sweet battle.

Jon being Rhaegar and Lena's son has been pretty obvious for a long time. I don't see how anybody that has read the books can miss this. It's the whole point of the entire Jon Snow plot line. It's the most crucial aspect of the entire story. It's the money shot of the whole series. Not getting this is like reading the last page of Animal Farm and saying to yourself "That was a cute story about pigs." GRRM will probably change it now because it's so obvious.

Benzer's spoiler is right. It's so blindingly obvious. It's the entire basis for the whole series; for even the name of the series. A Song of Ice (Jon) and Fire (Daenerys). Their connection is unmistakable and will be revealed in the next book or two.

And for Whistler:

Rhaegar later disappeared with Lyanna, an act that many people, including Lyanna's family and her betrothed Robert Baratheon, viewed as a kidnapping. While the exact nature of their relationship is not currently known, outrage over the act ultimately triggered the War of the Usurper.

it's 5 books that have over 700 pages spanning 15 years now. I definitely retain more than post people, but I still can't keep track of half of this shit.
