The gentrification and the attack on small businesses was a freight train that might have been stopped years ago. Not any longer. At least I got to see some of the awesomeness back around 2000. Even then, my friends would tell me how much it sucked compared to the 80 and 90s. I am sure people told them how much it sucked compared to the 60s and 70s.
