I like that rear sight / raised rail. I would've bought that if I didn't have a 10" Midwest Industries freefloat on the way. Im gonna be cutting down the stock front sight block and going with ARMS folding front and rear sights.

It is for either loading rounds into a mag or into a gun with it's own mag. (ie an un-modified sks.)

My upper is 11.5" so I went with a 10" rail, this one:

Basically its gonna cover most of the barrel and just leave the flash hider visible.
