What ship should I fly in low sec.

I am starting to wander out into .4 .3 & .2 space. I am mostly ratting and running missions, but obviously I run into the occassional pirate.

I am trying to decide whether I should stick with a ferox or step up to a scorpion or raven.

I am pretty careful about making sure I am not stepping into a gate camp. I am actually a little excited about all of those mid slots the scorpion has.

ferox (or even a caracal) will serve you well down to 0.1, and even some 0.0. That is, if my corpmates are to be believed.

I've taken out 175k rats in 0.3 with my caracal, and they only took me down to half shield.
 
Good info to know atleast as well. I'm hoping to get into low sec eventually but I just haven't had the time so just log in, train, log out at the moment till my schedule changes a bit.
 
I was able to do 0.0 with my carcal, but get a ferox for 0.0 in space. As far as low sec.. I would never rat down there.
