What do I need to run Supreme Commander?

Supreme Commander bottle necks with processor and ram. 2Gb might not be enough. You also may want a more powerful chip.

I hope you've already played the game. IMO its not worth it to buy a system for that game.

Edit: Also, having a two monitor setup is pretty much a must have too.

2 Gig of RAM is plenty.

You'll need a better video card if you want to run it with multiple monitors.

I run it flawlessly on max settings.

A64 4000+ (single core)
1GB Corsair XMS PC3200 (@2-3-3-5)
eVGA 8800GTS 320MB KO AC3

Edit: I should specify 1280x1024.

Probably not in big games data.

OP, you should go with a core 2 duo.

On a different note, i cant wait for the xpack.

You mean the ones where I hit the unit limit?

It doesn't lose a single frame.

My video card is totally carrying me. I realize this.

I ran it awesome on a core 2 duo over clocked to 3.2ghz with 1gb of ram. Also have an 8800 though with 768mb of ram.

It is optimized for core 2 machines.

I haven't checked.

If I had to estimate, 50-60 average. It's very smooth.

Is it a more awesome TA? Be worth it for me...

Its got a huge scale, but the graphics are really bland, and there is very little difference in factions. Its pretty awesome to create an army of a thousand mechs then watch them get destroyed. TA > SupCom
