Ok, FPS history stretching way back, I was weened on the Q2 snap rail... then got used to the UT shock rifle. The last 2 years have been in heavy UT2003 and UT2004 weapon pipe switches between projectiles and hitscan.
I have just begun to get the hang of the Tribes projectile and hitscan feel of it's weapons.
One of the methods I use alot now, is offensive sniping (not all the time) in a sneek and headshot the target, trying to pull the target my way, or a few friends with him. Now he is injured, airborne (hopefully) and only searching for me.
(team positives: defender out of position, defender weakened, defense distracted, defensive holes)
From there, when he is close enough, or closing on me, I hold position for a moment and pepper the enemy with chain/blaster for a few moments as they close the gap. I then prime and toss a grenade to their feet, forcing them to move where I want them to. In the air, is best, because I know they have air physics, and most hop the grenade, which throws them very high.
Right as they jump, I switch to the spin, aim well above their head, and then pipe switch to the sniper and immediately snap shoot below my disk. Usually one of the two hits. sniper = death, disk = severe damage if they have the repair kit. Again, it's to the chain to tick them down.
I find this to be quite effective. Since I am not running caps, I like to just agrivate the defense, and pull them out of position.
My question to the masses is this: What killing combo is best against defenders (as L/M/H O with loadouts), and which methods are best against incoming O.
What's the best way to handle enemy vehicles?
Please, be gentle I'm still a T:V virgin...
