For me, personally, it means alot. I tried to get back into EVE Sept/Oct. I had IMMENSE difficulty in accumalating BM sets for alot of the southern regions, so that I can effectively participate in that free for all, target-rich environ.

After 2 weeks of ratting and perstering dozens of people across EVE, I only netted a few regions, and nothing where the fighting was.

Disheartened, I set some long trains and played 2142 beta/release.

With this patch, Ill be able to blow all 1 billion of my ISK in blowing apart every single ship not hued blue, south of Ipref. Happy times are coming. Weeee!

I finally don't have to trackdown 3 regions for ratting and 5 for killing carebears at 20 mill a pop. Also shipping crap in from empire will be a little easier. Also being able to explore the new regions bookmark free will be nice. Basically means I'll be more inclined to go pvp in enemy space whenever I want since I won't have to go find the freaking bm's first. That and hopefully it fixes the lag where 40 people jumping into 100 people crashes the server ever freaking time.

1. Interdictor prices are gonna skyrocket, because every gang is gonna need them. Massive demand.

2. Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles.

3. More insta-lock inties.

4. Mobility and freedom. Incursions anywhere, anytime. Gangs will move faster because the gang lead won't have to sift through his gate-to-gates for an insta, and no more worrying about fellow gang members not having instas for a region.

I am all for it. My client will be a lot less laggy and it will remove a huge portion of ripoff escrows/contracts out of the system. Of course I still have to get over the 5fps thing, but at least in theory it will be better over all.

It will make dictors/bubbles a necessity, no more hoping to catch someone "off-insta". It will mean quicker travel all over the map and less time wasted preparing for a trip. It will get noobs into the action quicker and promote more PvP, I hope.

I was kinda put-off by it when I first heard about it, but I'm coming around since anyone worth fighting is going to have instas anyways.

That's what I was thinking. It'll allow anyone to be at least capable in pvp. 00 regions wont seem as daunting to most, so maybe more people will move to them (hope)

I think they're keeping autopilot to 15km though, good thing too, make empire seem too small.

You dont neccesarilly need bubbles though, just uber fast locking frigs. Anything other than a covert or pod/inty is going to have a hard time now that everyoneand their mother is going to have a sensor booster + 20km out of neccessity.

I completely disagree with point 1. Most gangs have interdictors already, as most people in 0.0 space had instas already. Gangs without dictors are rare.

Really it's going to affect empire wars and low-sec gankers more than anything. It should hopefully allow more mobile dispersed gangs in 0.0. But really it's not going to help anything if the server performance doesn't allow you to jump more than 10 people into a system without it going completely unstable.

but but!!!! according to ccp, the whole performance issue was because of bookamrks!!! the problems should be fixed now right????

Well I have less clientside lag due loading bm's in my p&p and right click menu. But ya the server was anything but stable last night. Maybe it'll get better overtime, but the dragon patch was supposed to be an improvement also. We had about 20 vs 30 battle last night and there were 2 node crashes and I had to reload eve twice because I was watching the battle, but my ship had warped off.

damn, and I wanted to buy xiv too.....was just going to have to convince the wife it was a good idea hehe
I'm gonna give the new patch a whirl for a week, and then reassess. To be honest, it's not so much the game that drags me down, it's all the other shit going on in my life outside the game. I'm working on clearing that shit out as we speak.

Heh. I bet, at some divource hearing between a nerd couple, videogame currency was on the table to be divided.

"Im not going to except anyting lower than 500 Plat/ISK/Samolians/Creds/Gold.
