Pats would be near the bottom, so no way they pick him up. Some other team would pick him up and he'll end up sitting out the season or something. He obviously regrets his decision, and wants to be back. Also, factor in the fact that most teams know he is staying in Boston right now, and wants to play for the Pats. So that would turn off a lot of teams from picking him up anyway.
