I remember you saying the exact same thing about the "soap opera" factor a year ago. I didn't get what you meant then, and I don't get what you mean now.Bigger gloves mean more action. Everyone loves a good knockout, but there's many times in the UFC where someone gets caught on the button in the early goings and it's over (Lidell for example). They usually jump back up wanting to continue. In K-1, they get another chance. Purists may argue against giving someone another chance, but it's a bummer when the introductions last longer than the fight just because someone got caught.
Agree about the championship soup in the UFC, it's a mess. They're all great fighters, but they really don't have the soap opera factor like they did a year ago.
If you're looking for drama, look no further than the Heavyweight championship belt. Couture has been in a legal battle with the UFC for about a year now trying to get his contract thrown out.
That said, all of the UFC champions are the best of the best, and they all push for exciting matches, and really that's all that should be expected of them. If you're looking for drama, go watch an actual soap opera.
