TWars: Do we have to pay even if we're not going to play?

I know there are a lot of people out there like myself who would like to attend TW:E/W simply to hang out and make fun of the other nerds. But I really don't want to pay 60(65?) bucks just to get inside and chill w/ ppl.

So is it possible to get in w/o a cover charge if we don't intend to play any games or partake in any of the tournaments?
 
you cant go in the gameroom without the little nametag, and there's not much else to do between the hours of 2pm and 10pm.
