Drives fucked. Back up the data and move to a different computer. Dont put money into that POS.

only thing that sucks is losing the data since the recovery disk formatted the HD, though I don't think I had super important stuff on there

last thing I'll try is putting an install on an USB drive and trying to boot from it, if that still doesn't work I'm buying a new one hehe

Im pretty sure your drive is toast. Get data off of it before it mechanically fails.

this is failure on a pretty big scale

If you think your drive is stuffed then pull it out and install on a new one straight away. get a cheap external hub or enclosure so you can read the data from the old one later.

Drives are cheap as shit and if it turns out you were wrong then you now have a spare external drive.

make an emergency usb boot stick... its a form of linux, but can access ntfs/fat. from there, backup yer shit to external hd, then run scandisk to confirm it is indeed hd failure. when confirmed, replace with new hd or ssd, and get to installin
