Have World Machine export the texture in Leveller format, and then have Leveller process it into a 16-bit greyscale bMP. That will remove the choppiness, which comes from usign an 8-bit BMP.

The problem is that this wont work with the free demo version of Leveller. A full version costs around 100 dollars, so thats not really an option. Do you have any alternatives?

Ant, Im going straight from WM, to TvED.

And my Terrains are as smooth as silk.

WM exports my Customized Terrain as anything I want, BMP, TNG, etc etc... why do you reccomend Leveller?

i think its because once you start to scale the terrain back up, it gets wacky on ya... seems those imperceptible glitches and what not really poke their heads out when you have a 256x256 scale

Scarabrae is 300X300 and its smooth.

. . .I thought heightmaps only worked in powers of 2?

or do you mean that the heightmap scale, as set in the terrain properties, is 300 x 300 x ? ?
