[Soccer] #1 Team in the world right now is the US

.. Women's Soccer Team.

I just watched them beat down China 10-0 and thought, "Why the fuck are our Women so damn good, while our men suck shit?"

People talk about country interest as a factor in a successful team, or TV coverage or salary, etc.

Currently, the US Women have not lost under this new coach and pretty much dominate anyone they play. 26 games or so and no losses. Pretty incredible.

How does the Women and Men soccer programs here in the US differ? How does the US Women's program differ from other countries?

It's just amazing the contrast between our soccer programs at the national level when it comes to gender.

Because all the best athletes in the United States play football, baseball, and basketball. Soccer is like a little on down the list of salary so the better athletes go to the better money.

In the Eurpoean countries soccer IS the #1 sport.

American women are free to play soccer as children and are encouraged to participate in sports. Not all countries are like that

If you saw the discovery thing on China last night you would realize their women arent given quite the same support.
