I know to get the most out of your hookah experience you need to get this:

Minnesota Hookah

You want to heat your shisha not burn it. That glass device will make your shisha last longer and provide better smoke. Get 2 so you can clean one while using the other.

Before you use it coat it with cooking oil to make it 1000 times easier to clean.

I got mine from Hookah Tobacco, Hookahs, Charcoal & Accessories - Fumari.com Hookah Store about 6-7 years ago and it's been good to me. I got some kind of starter kit that came with pretty much everything you need to smoke and maintain one. I'd give them a try.
