Search function in Windows broken.

When I try to open the search dialog via the start menu, I get an error message titled "Error" that reads "A file that is required to run Search Companion cannot be found. You may need to run setup.

I would like to know if I can reinstall the original search dialog, maybe from a Windows cd or the like, or if there is another way of repairing it.
