damn it... I had gone several years without getting addicted to a game.

You guys got me to try this one and now I waste hour after hour playing it.

On a side note though I am becoming quite the capitalist. I go ratting and running missions to kill time and learn how to best use my weapons, but I make all of my cash trading goods.

(of course this is old news to you vets) I put out buy orders in 0.5 & 0.6 systems where a lot of people are ratting and they want to sell stuff for whatever they can get then go back out.

I then take it back into 1.0 and sell it for double or sometimes triple what I baught it for. I fill up my indy every couple of days. Each trip gives me a profit of about 5 mil. yeah yeah I know you can make much more money out in low sec but my character is only 2.5 weeks old.

I should be able to buy my first battle cruiser by next week though, then I will start toying around in 0.4 and see what the hub bub is all about.

a battlecruiser, or battleship for that matter, won't make you any safer in 0.4 space to be honest.

Beast we nabbed us a FLA tempest last night =D

yea I have learned since joining the little sniggs, fly in frigates its cheaper. The few hundred mill I had left from mining ops in 0.0 has been dwindled down a lot because of my stupidity of running 26-80m ships in low sec.

now I keep my high priced items in high sec, and fly around in either my punisher if im solo or Assault frig if im in a gang. I leave my Battleships and other items of worth like tech 2 gear in empire lol

Can't stay in the cradle my whole life though. Have to see whats out in the front yard. I have not spent any isk on implants or any of that stuff so if I get podded, so be it. I will just make sure my insurance is up to date and I have an up to date clone.

What would be your main advise for going into low sec.

exactly the advice that vlasic gave you, do not go in with anything bigger then a cruiser. Even those pirates in my corp who are old timers don't just go venturing around in low sec with 20+m dollar ships.

Spend all the isk you want on implants, but not until you train the skill "Infomorph Psycology". This allows you to use jump clones, giving you the ability to 'jump' out of your implanted clone into an implant free clone. Then you can go die at will, and save your implants... :D

There are some restrictions to jump clones, mainly that you can only install a jump clone into a station in which you have a positive standing to a certain degree. Theoretically, you can install a jump clone in Empire, but realistically, you can only install them into 0.0 stations to which you have docking rights.

Oh, and the best advice for traveling low security space, is to use instas. That, and a shuttle, or quick frigate with nano-fibre or warp core stabalizers in the lows. This will ensure you don't get caught at a gate, and if you do, your loss will be minimal.

I have tried setting instas but I am still landing at 15k out from the gate. Any suggestions or links to a guide to figure out what I am doing wrong?

Also, if I attack someone in 0.4 or 0.3 space, I know not to warp to a gate while I am still under the aggression timer, but other than that will I get negative standing with concord, and does this build up until I am declared an outlaw?

for starters you want to know what kind of loot the rats drop when you kill them in that area. here is an example of one item.

I put in a buy order for 200 "tracking disruptor 1" at 3800. people can sell to me 1 at a time or 2 or more at a time.

I can sell these disruptors at Jita IV - moon 4 for 11000. that is a profit of 7200 per disruptor. (less tax and brokerage fees)

well I have a whole list of items that I am buying in several sytems. once I have plenty of items to fill my indy up with I go around to the different stations loading up then head over to Jita IV.

Like I said it takes a couple days for the orders to fill up but the time dedicated to the buying, hauling, and selling is minimal.

it has not happened to me yet, but one thing you have to be careful of are suicide pirates. They will kill you knowing full well that the sentries will pop them. But their buddy will pick up your loot.

unless you are carrying enough for them to risk the loss of their ships, since BS or HAC maybe the only thing that would live long enough to take you out, they wont bother.

Since HAC's cost about 160-180m, and Battleships 60-120million depending on how they get them, they wont do this to you unless you are carrying a decent loot cargo.

As for the Insta's.

Fly 15k out from the spot you are going, the best way I do this is flip my camera to look down my front to my back, and line up the gate or can with my nose, then point my butt down like a sight to the entrance spot I came from.

Remember insta's are direct line of sight. So if you make an insta 15k away from the gate, but its 90degree angle from where you are warping in at, yolu still still hit at 15k away.

You have to fly "past" your target.

hope this helps, if not let me know and ill show you in game sometime on my alt in jita.

EDIT: Also remember, warping from 1au+ out, 15degrees is a smidge, but when you get closer to the gate, it will be farther so you can bet that on most jumps you will hit a variance of about +/- 500-1km range. You will never hit the insta perfectly at the same spot everytime.

Honestly. You will buy your first battlecruiser at 20-30mill, and when it gets owned in low sec space you will quit.

The only advice I can give you is insure your ships fully, always. And have fun. :P

Right now I have only 2 mill sp's, my ass is still in a bc, learning skills, and getting all my t2 stuff before I move up.

When you get good ships, you still need the skills to effectively use them mate.

thats really cool :D

Insta-jump instas are made inline from the departure gate, 12KM past the destination gate.

Departure gate O ---------O-| 12KM past

You can either make it by warping to the target gate, and flying 12KM past it in a direct line from the warp, or simply go out 12KM, and then fly your ship around until your ship, the target gate, and the departure gate are all inline. Keep in mind that there is a "jump bubble" around the gate, which means that if you are a KM or two off from the absolute center of the gate (wher ethe gate icon is), you will still be in jump range.

As for insta-dock bookmarks, the easiest way to make those on 90% of the stations is to dock, undock, and immediately bookmark the location of the undock. I haven't run into a station yet that this won't work with, as the dock bubble of the stations is so large. And the best part is that they are omni-directional, so you only need one insta per station for all directions.
