Just got windy, dropped to 45 and sprinkled a bit. Brrr. Came down to warm up. I can see blue sky coming.

If it looks like I bent all that with a 2x4, you're correct.

Once I get the goddamn skylight done it will be nothing to finish shingling today.

Finished up the skylight and shingles on that side of the sun room. Ripped out and replaced a sheet on the other side.

Fucking OSB, and sheet hanging over the face board. Not terribly surprised, as there's no clips between sheets and nothing is straight...
:stab:

Skylight finished.

Old sheet over a new one for angle marking.
About 2 inches of OSB gone.

Yeah, me too. I knew the edge was bad, but not the bad stuff in the corner under the membrane. The OSB turned into a fine almost dirt like sawdust in there. You can see the work I did 7 years ago fixing the skylight and valley above it. The old membrane was only 18 inches wide - they split it in half to save on materials...

I'll run some proper membrane in there to keep it dry.

god damn y didn't u just hire a bunch of guys to rip all that old osb off and do the whole thing right

how many hours do u have into thing now

:lolque:

The Mexican crews do a roof in like 3-4 days but I've seen some wonky work they do up there. Like leave rusty metal flashing or beat stuff together with empty tequila bottles

Generally one can just grab hold of a corner on shingles and peel them off. Would take me less than 2 days to remove Plas shingles by myself. Thats why I hate that he lives so far away from me. He and I working together could have had that knocked out no prob by now. Plas is my VetXV so I would have worked for free. I love my VetXV. He is a good man.

in 2020 people use tools

Peel off roof like a sticker. Then use that to pull out the nails.

(I worked roofing before I learned plumbing. Mostly in Georgia, but did travel to Biloxi Mississippi to remove and replace roof on a church with a really steep pitch.)
