So I got sucked into a weekly texas hold em game. The problem is I barely know the rules let alone know how to play well. What's the best place to play for free?
 
pokerstars is the best hands down.

If you want, player search for "AC3 H!GH" and Ill give you 50,000 to start with instead of the 1000 they give you to start with.
 
Hold Em is a great game to get into, as much skill as it is luck. Look up some how-to books and watch any televised tournaments. There's some crazy depth to the game that most people don't realise.
 
Internet Poker play is much different than table play. If you play table poker like you play interweb poker, you will lose quickly.

yeah i tried find a player but no dice. in better news, I managed to win a couple hands w/o really knowing what I was doing. Teddy, better to be azn than a portugalese monster. edit: the funny thing is there are no asians at this game.

I'll try again afterwork. The lowbie tables are a good place to start, but b/c of the small blinds and bets, the tables don't play well... When you get up to about 8k or so, I suggest trying the NL 100/200 tables. For being play money, this is where you will find the best kept games. People work hard for their large ammounts of play money, and tend to play as though it is real.

Ya, limit hold 'em is incredibly retarded online. Even when you're playing RL it's kind of tedious imo.

NL is where it's at :)
