wtf does this shit mean? robert frost is fucking crazy

Something inspires the only cow of late
To make no more of a wall than an open gate,
And think no more of wall-builders than fools.
Her face is flecked with pomace and she drools
A cider syrup. Having tasted fruit,
She scores a pasture withering to the root.
She runs from tree to tree where lie and sweeten
The windfalls spiked with stubble and worm-eaten.
She leaves them bitten when she has to fly.
She bellows on a knoll against the sky.
Her udder shrivels and the milk goes dry.

It seems like he is decrying gluttony, the cow tastes fruit and "scores a pasture withering to the root" a condemnation of greed perhaps?...do your own homework.

Edited upon a quick reread.

blah you can make a parallel between the fruit and the garden of eden
the wall can be a metaphor for death
wall builders people trying to avoid death
blah bleh blah you can't avoid death

if this is for homework... pretty much any bullshit of this sort will do

a cow realizes that a wall is no more a phyical barrier to her then an open gate and that the farmers who built that wall are not her masters. She takes advantage of this new found freedom and eats herself full of apples which have fallen unpicked from trees, so plentiful that she leaves them half eaten and runs on to the next. An enslaved milk cow no more, she moo's triumphiantly into the sky.

Oddly enough, that's pretty much exactly what I was thinking...

i really wouldnt think that...read the end of the poem...its clearly dark.
OK, so the cow dies in the end because no amount of inner peace/freedom can stave off death. Dark enough?
