Plasma Tv question (as pc monitor as well)

I purchased a plasma tv, it was an open box but i have 90 days to return as well as a 2 year warranty.

Thing is awesome (46" Panasonic 1080p Plasma) but i noticed when i open up a word document, or go to Google, the screen seems to dim just a little bit. If i move the window off the screen the rest of the screen brightens.

This common for plasma? Anyone else experienced this?

Without a lot of bright colors the screen is amazingly vibrant.
 
Plasma's tend to be little dimmer.

You should get a calibration DVD and calibrate it. That might fix it. Also leave it on a for while on a tv show.. people say plasma's need a "break in"
