Im traveling to Europe this May and have a 6 hour lay over in Philly, what can I do for those 6 hours to keep myself entertained? I really don't want to waste it sitting at the airport.

Maybe a good place to go get a drink? Or a good Philly Cheese steak? Is it even possible to leave the airport and get anywhere close to civilization (non-ghetto) and get back in time to get on my plane in 6 hours?

:sunny: :hurry:

Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I liked to take a minute
Just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air

In west Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all shootin some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys
Who were up to no good
Startin making trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
She said 'You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air'

I begged and pleaded with her day after day
But she packed my suite case and send me on my way
She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket.
I put my walkman on and said, 'I might as well kick it'.

First class, yo this is bad
Drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass.
Is this what the people of Bel-Air Living like?
Hmmmmm this might be alright.

But wait I hear there're prissy, wine all that
Is Bel-Air the type of place they send this cool cat?
I don't think sow
I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for the prince of Bel-Air

Well, the plane landed and when I came out
There was a dude who looked like a cop standing there with my name out
I ain't trying to get arrested
I just got here
I sprang with the quickness like lightening, disappeared

I whistled for a cab and when it came near
The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror
If anything I can say this cab is rare
But I thought 'Now forget it' - 'Yo homes to Bel Air'

I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the cabbie 'Yo homes smell ya later'
I looked at my kingdom
I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air

is It's always sunny in Philadelphia ever going to return to tv?

yes, I just saw them filming today

Honest Answer to your question :
The airport is a bit out of town.
If you arrive in the evening/night do not take the train out, chances of you getting mugged are high. Catch a cab for about $10 to $15 and that should get you right into center city.

If you're going to center city I always recommend The Nodding Head (between 15th and 16th on sansom)
Local Brewery, good beer - great food - cheap

If you wanna try a cheese steak try Pats or Genos both are located at 1237 E Passyunk Ave (or just ask a cabbie to take you there, they will know)

Other then that .. again.. all depending on what time you are arriving, there is plenty to do in the city. Old City seems like somewhere that will have a lot more things your interested in. Airport is about 20 minutes outside the city

From the airport, you could get to Tony Luke's in under 10 minutes or so for a cheesesteak (with all due respect to Pat's and Geno's, they're touristy and not as good as Tony Luke's...)

You could also grab a drink at Chickie's & Pete's, and especially if there's any sort of game on when you're there, it'd be a good time. They hype it as a "top sports bar in the US," and while I'm not sure it's quite that, it's fun, especially if you're from out of town. Get a Yeungling and crab fries and you'll be saying "how yous doin'?" in no time...

No matter how you look at it, 6 hours is a good chunk of time!

well you'd have 4 hours go to pats or genos and see a phillies game!

I was in Philly in October last year and I got Pats AND Geno's, after the drive to get there I was pretty sure this old white boy wasn't going for seconds.

Worth every hour spent on the toilet afterwards....

dude, a genos cheesesteak is a great food to have in your stomach to travel on

i had one before my bus back to DC, brought 5 with me for my friends back in dc, ended up eating them all before we got into delaware on 95
