Old Cartoon name?

i am trying to remember the name of a cartoon i recall watching as a child in he 70's.

it was a space based toon, and the starships were like giant aircraft carriers..kind of had the same shape.

but instead of launching off of the platform...they came out of the BIG opening in the hull. thats all i can remember.

reason: i found some old drawings that i did in my youth and i drew these space ships. my mom said they were of a cartoon i used to watch.

too many head injuries i think...i cant remember shit.
 
There was a space Voltron type thing with Vehicles instead of the Lions.

I vaguely remember it being something like that, but no idea on the name.
