thats a useful tip. there is usually six options and you should be able to play atleast one though. counterpicking just because its a good choice if youve never played the champ can end badly.
 
whenever i did ranked with my usual top laners i could tell that most of the counterpicks chosen against me did so just for that reason and not because they could play that champ effectively... it was often hilarious fail on their part.

notice in tourney games how champs are selected. countering isnt top priority, getting your best champ/combo is (for the feannags out there im not saying countering ISNT important).

countering is always the top priority in tourneys. team comp is much higher priority than individual champ skill. see: therainman being booted from tsm
 
trm getting booted is because he didn't want to commit to tsm's practice schedule

nothing to do with team comp

i agree for the most part but some of the clg guides are solid. you just have to know which player plays which champions and how often, and how recently, and then look at their guide.

i guess its more guides for people who are already good but want to see how pros play their main champs.

and yes mobafire is not even worth mentioning except to say stay away
