[Movie Review] Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer [spoilers]

So, overall, it was relatively entertaining. Nothing great, not bad. Plot was kinda gay but the effects were cool. I saw it for free so this might be slightly skewed...I probably wouldn't pay to see it, looking back.

So, basically someone already predicted the plot. Surfer comes, mr. fantastic makes device to find him...surfer destroys it. victor doom comes back to life when the surfer comes near him, and tries to ally with the surfer...doesn't work out. doom pisses off the surfer, but in the process finds out that his power comes from his board.

so the fantastic four devise a way to separate the surfer from his board, and get him off it. they interrogate the surfer, and he tells the invisible woman that he is in service to galactus, aka the devourer of worlds. he is the only one who can stop galactus so they have to get him his board back.

victor takes the board and becomes really powerful...yadda yadda yadda...johnny takes all the fantastic four's powers because after he touched the silver surfer he can do that now....and defeats victor. the silver surfer takes his board and defeats galactus.

when he takes out galactus he supposedly dies but at the very end it looks like he isn't necessarily dead.

anyway that's it. it was funny at certain points. just don't expect anything deep.

i was entertained.

also it's pretty short, like 1:35.

it sounds like the only way i'd pay $10 to see this movie in theaters was if jessica alba got naked. a lot. and then came and gave me a lap dance and then we had sex in the back of the theater. i'd definitely pay $10 for that.

Actually no, they retcon'd this and changed it so that Silver Surfer always had the Power Cosmic, but was unaware of it. He never needed the board to control his powers and, in fact, it bound him to the planet for a while when Galactus raised his hand to imprison him after the initial betrayal.

Honestly though, not even Galactus could fuck with Silver Surfer. He's up there as one of the most imba superheroes in existence.
