SF's service is ad supported when it is free with a subscription service offered. Not Mountain View's.

I live in Mt. View and although the service works great outdoors...it's crawls to a halt indoors. I need to get something to boost their signal. They have over 300 wifi modems clamped on lamp posts. If you're surrounded by trees or buildings, it's not that great. Otherwise, it's nifty.

Yay! Now lets see the RIAA, MPAA and whoever else try to sue Google for people downloading shit off of their connection. Sure, it won't be amazing speeds, but the anoniminity seems pretty good since Google would only know your MAC, unless you have ot register it with them before they give access to that MAC.
